I've just got around to YOU on the P-II/333 laptop, so far all OK on both laptops. It all depends on what software you use, myself, many years ago I was able to discard Windows completely as all my needs for work were met by X3270, mozilla, OpenOffice.org (used codeweavers as proof of concept for other colleagues), Cisco VPN client for Linux, Lotus Notes (runs under wine) and Citrix Linux client, One colleague said he was running MS Office under wine and put out a document to all our UK employees telling them they could work effectively using just Linux.
