Hi, I have a latex document written in italian but I am not able to get the italian hyphenation work. Here is the preamble. -------------- \documentclass{oatorep} \usepackage[italian]{babel} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{marvosym} \usepackage[amssymb,italian]{SIunits} \usepackage{graphicx} \usepackage{makeidx} ..... ------------- As you can see, I'm using the babel package with the italian option, but I get the following warning when I try to compile the document: Package babel Warning: No hyphenation patterns were loaded for (babel) the language `Italian' (babel) I will use the patterns loaded for \language=0 instead. I already uncommented the line of the italian language in the file /etc/texmf/language.dat, and done a texhash; the file ithyph.tex is in the directory /usr/share/texmf/tex/generic/hyphen/, but still it is not working. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance Alberto Vecchiato PS: just in case, this is not a problem of the oatorep document class I am using, since I have the same problem with a test document using article.cls.
