I do *almost* all of the upgrades as I live "on the edge"
<forgive OT> my fav ever t-shirt legend read: "If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room". I'm not sure this holds for computers though 8)
Depends of the job. If the computer is used for monitary gain, the edge is quite possibly not the correct location. But, as a hobby or for research into the application/distro/abilities of a computer and/or system, the edge may be necessary.
I find knowledge and challenge at the edge <grin>, yet I purchased 9.1 Pro and have never installed it and purchased 9.2 and still dragging my heels. I <fully> intend to install 9.2, but would like to build a new box and install on the work-bench while keeping my present 9.0 system online. ...It's always something...
Thats why I use drive caddys if I blow one I am still up and running.
If not can cp all of home over. Likely Ill first put 9.2 on the PIII
where I have a burner and keep 9.1 on the PII as both will be supported
through 2006. Only this time Ill get the treeware edition like I did
with 8.2.
