I asked, please help to send fax with SuSE Linux 9.2 pro. KdeprintFax converts to PS, but sending Fax it cannot find /usr/bin/fax which indeed is missing. Why is EFax not installed? Why is EFax not included in YaST2 Install Software list?
James Knott answered Perhaps they decided to leave the choice of fax app up to use. As I recall, there's at least 3 to choose from.
For a fax modem there are two: hylafax and sendfax. No efax. Hylafax is a large app difficult to install. I tried sendfax but couldn´t get it running. SuSE helpcenter has fax info only for ISDN, not for my 56K fax modem.
I happen to have another system with Mandrake 10.0 Linux on which efax is preinstalled and sending fax is straightforward. The Mandrake starter guide has adequate fax info.
KdeprintFax is preconfigered for efax but I can´t find efax in SuSE Linux. Is it part of a larger package?
