Thanks for all the replies. The firmware issue is good to know about. The drive in question is the current model LG dual layer burner, belonging to a buddy of mine. He did try to write the DVD once, and it got only halfway. However, he did it from windows using Nero (I'm willing to bet that's where the problem was). I just always feel safer burning from the command line, because I know some gui app making nonsense won't affect my burning. Can anyone confirm the correct cdrecord usage for this?
