It's all in the subject line.
I am afraid of what I've read somewhere, about problems with onboard NIC and sound chips.
Anybody willing to share real life experience, before I throw my money away?
TIA & regards

Better use the suse-amd64 list. I've built both a k8v deluxe and a k8v se deluxe. Take a look at the mailing list for Nov-Dec or google "suse-amd64 k8v". I can't get the onboard audio to work on one and the onboard GBit LAN on the other.
Cheers
Thank you for your answer. I browsed already through archives of suse-amd64, but there were different answers, which confuses me. I was not sure whether people speak about k8v, k8v deluxe or k8v se deluxe. On CD that comes with k8v se deluxe, there are linux drivers for gbit lan (marvel chip), but I am curious if they will work on 9.2, because they are marked as for kernel 2.4.13 (with patches for 2.4.22). I am using 9.2 with kernel 2.6.8-24.5...
Have you tried these drivers (file name: install-618.tr.bz2) ?? Is that what you couldn't get to work?
The drivers for kernel 2.4.X will certainluy not work on a 2.6 kernel. However, suse supports an amazing amount of NICs out of the box. I have yet to find a NIC that suse 92 does not support Kind regards, -- Gerhard den Hollander Phone :+31-10.280.1515 Global ICT manager Direct:+31-10.280.1539 Fugro-Jason Fax :+31-10.280.1511 gdenhollander@Fugro-Jason.com POBox 1573 visit us at http://www.Fugro-Jason.com 3000 BN Rotterdam JASON.......#1 in Reservoir Characterization The Netherlands This e-mail and any files transmitted with it are confidential and intended solely for the use of the addressee.
