OK, i try a short summary.
someone says, that the emovix cd's can not boot.
There are two tips to solve the problem.
a) it's said, the the emovix version from packman does not work and you should deinstall it and get a newer version like emovix-0.9.0pre1
b) after boot, cd stays on boot prompt and you have to type (after the message "cannot find kernel" appears): /isolinox/kernel/vmlinuz
does that help you?
Andreas
Andreas, thanks. I tried (b) in vmware, it started to boot (failed as well, but maybe because of the vmware). I have no time now to reboot, but I'll try both of the suggestions and report back to the list.
Ok, thats what I found (no success at all): At boot I issued: boot: /isolinux/kernel/vmlinuz and it booted to some point, but after that I got Kernel panic - can not mount /root fs. Most probably there are some other boot options. And still, the idea is that it should open a grub menu with the right options, so I don't have to type in where the kernel image is. One way or another, I uninstalled this rpm, as in the other post it was suggested that it is broken. Then I installed eMovix from their site. After comparing the newly installed files, they are exactly the same with these ones, provided by the rpm. md5sums are equal as well. Just the rpm put them in a different folder. And, it still does not work. Now k3b complains that can not find eMovix, even I have added the path were it was installed. So, is there someone who have succeeded to use eMovix and k3b under Suse? Any suggestions will be highly appreciated. Cheers Sunny -- Get Firefox http://www.spreadfirefox.com/?q=affiliates&id=10745&t=85
