1. yast2 support refers to www.suse.de/en/support which doesn't exist.
True..
2. error page received when going to above supplies email which has a typo in it and therefore doesn't exist.
So, how about selecting the country and see what happens. I did, and it took me to the novell/suse page where I can get to support.
3. going to www.suse.com results in a redirect to a page with an error on it. (see prior email for this)
Must be your setup. Try clearing cache. If not, the re-direct goes to http://www.novell.com/linux/suse/index.html I tried this in both Konq and firefox. Worked both times.
4. submount supplies /etc/hotplug/hotplug.subfs.functions which tries to use hwscan --show which fails, causing my boot time to increase to 2-3 times what it should be, in addition to not working properly.
Odd. Just curious. Do you have any USB connections when you boot? Just a question..
Either submount or hwscan needs to be changed to fix this. Also, please use absolute paths in submount. (some places uses /sbin/hwscan others just use hwscan)
Should be good with either if /sbin is in the path. But I can see where it might be a problem.
And damnit they included stuff on the DVD that's not on the CDs that I really need. How much is 1 or 2 more CD's? I paid for a full version I can't access. Can you tell I'm a little frustrated?
Yep.. And the DVD vs. CD has been discussed at length. The problems with reading dual layer DVD's also has been chewed up over and over. FWIW, I've got one DVD drive out of 4 that absolutely won't read the DVD. It's a newer Samsung model and I can't believe it won't read the DVD.
