I've been using rsync to backup my files. Since the beginning I've been getting this error message: rsync error: some files could not be transferred (code 23) at main.c(633)
How can I find out what these files are?
My rsync exclude file is: /proc/ /tmp/ /mnt/ /media/ /data2/ /data1/ Data 1 and two are backup drives. Should I be excluding anything else? I'm using Suse 9.1 and 9.2

Thanks Peter, I added it to the exclude list. Through the process of elimination I found the other files that are not being copied and why. Here is a partial list: send_files failed to open "/sys/bus/pci/drivers/Promise Old IDE/new_id": Permission denied send_files failed to open "/sys/bus/pci/drivers/RZ1000 IDE/new_id": Permission denied send_files failed to open "/sys/bus/pci/drivers/SC1200 IDE/new_id": Permission denied send_files failed to open "/sys/bus/pci/drivers/SIS IDE/new_id": Permission denied send_files failed to open "/sys/bus/pci/drivers/SLC90e66 IDE/new_id": Permission denied send_files failed to open "/sys/bus/pci/drivers/Serverworks IDE/new_id": Permission denied send_files failed to open "/sys/class/scsi_host/host0/scan": Permission denied send_files failed to open "/sys/class/scsi_host/host1/scan": Permission denied send_files failed to open "/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:08.0/0000:01:09.0/fw-host0/00d04b43e0091193/00d04b43e0091193-0/host1/1:0:0:0/delete": Permission denied send_files failed to open "/sys/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:08.0/0000:01:09.0/fw-host0/00d04b43e0091193/00d04b43e0091193-0/host1/1:0:0:0/rescan": Permission denied The permissions are: drwxr-xr-x for all of them. The owner is root. rsync is being run as root. Any ideas why permission is being denied? Thanks, Jerome
