I'm running SUSE 9.2 with stock KDE installation, all updates. Recently (last couple of days), when I start KMail, it takes something like 10-15 minutes to "settle down" enough to be usable. I can literally take a shower and eat in the time it takes.
O.k., granted, I've got folders full of mail. I've compacted all folders but the thing is simply sluggish. I have not rebooted - isn't that one of the reasons for moving _from_ Windows? I don't see any odd processes running, and KMail is the only app that does this. I can work with other apps, although if they are in the same Window, and I switch to/from Kmail, I get that window lag something terrible.
Do I just need to delete some of this e-mail I'm keeping (probably pretty useless)? Or is there something else that could cause this sluggish behavior?
