There is no objective reason to prohibit or even discourage mark-up in email and on Usenet.
Is it not true that, at least on a Windows box, an html message is a favorite vehicle for script kiddies to send viruses?
Perhaps, though I don't know what that has to do with people who choose good operating systems, or at least good email software.
I didn't say that recipients should run embedded executable content, just that styled text should be allowed.
note: quote is full for example. styled text is allowed. Notice the '<snip>' above and every-once-in-a- while, someone will provide a smiley/frowney or words enclosed in asterisks or underlines, double quotes, single quotes and occasionally will shout (considered bad form). html, rtf, .... are not. -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org HOG # US1244711 Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/photos
