I have no idea if upgrading an installation will change the K meu, as I rotate drives, and always install from scratch.
Right click on the "start application" button on the taskbar, which brings up a menu including a "menu editor" item. I just added and deleted an application to be sure how it works, and there seems to be one small "feature" that is annoying: when I highlighted my item and pressed "delete", it was not actually deleted. I went back into the editor, hightlighted the item, and pressed "cut", which got rid of it. (The "apply" button does not seem to want to light up when you are deleting an item.)

I have a 9.0 system where I have edited the K menu.
Which file in /home/ do I need to delete to restore the menu as it was before I edited it. I do not want to change my background and screensaver settings, just the K 'menu' settings I thought I'd like, but consequently don't.
along the same lines 9.2 has far many more applications in it and hence a more complicated K 'menu'. Would installing 9.2 and then replacing the /home with a backed up copy also change the K 'menu' structure, or do I just need to delete the same file I did in 9.0? Tnx Darryl,
I was looking more for a file I can delete and therefore restore my K menu to its default. I am just not sure where it is ie in the ~/.config or ~/.menu directory or even ~/ Someone on the list knows and told me before but I cannot remember and cannot afford to search the archives. -- The Little Helper ======================================================================== Hylton Conacher - Linux user # 229959 at http://counter.li.org Currently using SuSE 9.0 Professional with KDE 3.1 Licenced Windows user ========================================================================
