Sid, Thanks for the help, but that didn't fix it. Do you know where I can go in and manually change the interface? It is still picking up the Compaq Netelligent Card Interface and I need to change it to the Intel EE Pro 100. What config file is that housed in? It isn't changing it when I change it in Yast. I am having the same problem with a Compaq 1850R with an integrated NIC. I had originally installed Compaq interface for the NIC and that one wasn't working. A co-worker said he has Linux working on another machine with the same NIC using an Intel EE Pro 100 so I am trying to install that interface, but no matter what I do, it still sees the old interface and then gives the same message as below.
So I guess my question would be how do I get it to recognize a new NIC interface???

Suse 9.1 Pro. While booting, very often network card (integrated) is not found. Usually "few" restarts helps. Messages from log file are below. There is another computer with same configuration, usually no problems there. And same problem occur sometimes with other computers also... What could be reason & solution?

Try "modprobe eepro100" lsmod|grep eepro ###to check it's in. rcnetwork restart If all is fine, then /etc/modprobe.conf may need modification. I'm not using an eepro100, so this line is commented out, it may need to be differnt on your box. # options eepro io=0x260 irq=10 mem=0x6000 Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce ....
