I have 3.0.7-1 and cups happily playing together on a 9.0 box that should be
very close to what you are doing. If I recall, I did have to update:
libsmbclient3-3.0.7-1.i586.rpm
libsmbclient3-devel-3.0.7-1.i586.rpm
I did the rpm -Uvh lib*
before doing the rpm -Uvh sam*
samba3-python-3.0.7-1.i586.rpm
samba3-vscan-0.3.5-1.i586.rpm
samba3-winbind-3.0.7-1.i586.rpm
samba3-3.0.7-1.i586.rpm
samba3-client-3.0.7-1.i586.rpm
samba3-doc-3.0.7-1.i586.rpm
samba3-pdb-3.0.7-1.i586.rpm
all is working fine here. Hope this helps
my cups version is:
skyline:~ # rpm -qa | grep cup
cups-drivers-1.1.19-52
cups-client-1.1.19-85
cups-1.1.19-85
cups-drivers-stp-1.1.19-52
cups-libs-1.1.19-85
This is older that your version, so you should be OK

First time I've seen this...
Trying to install Samba 3.0.7 from rpms obtained from the samba.org site on a SuSE 8.2 system--very vanilla. Samba has not been installed previously on this box at all.
outside:/home/data/Downloads/Samba-3.0.7/8.2 # rpm -Uvh libsmbclient3-3* samba3-3* samba3-client* samba3-win* --test file /usr/lib/cups/backend/smb from install of samba3-client-3.0.7-1 conflicts with file from package cups-1.1.18-96 outside:/home/data/Downloads/Samba-3.0.7/8.2 #
What's the best way to handle this?
Thanks! Mark -- _________________________________________________ A Message From... L. Mark Stone
