It seemed like it was a more nontrivial problem then just changing that line :). I just tried grep -R print.pdf * on my .kde directory and got nothing.
I don't know how or why Kprinter decided to make that the default directory.
Unfortunately I'm out of ideas. I noticed that when you change it from a given application it remembers your last entry for the output file but when you restart the application it resets it back to print.pdf in your home directory.

I found the file. It's .kde/share/config/kprinterrc and contains the line, that sets the default directory. tnx jk
