I am at a loss. I have put various versions of SuSE on all kinds of machines, but this one totally stumps me. I am attempting to install SuSE 9.1 Pro on a Dell 370 machine that has an Adaptec U370 scsi controller with a Seagate ST3146807LW drive.. From what I have been able to find I am supposed to use the aic79xx kernel module. The machine is currently running RedHat Enterprise Workstation with this configuration. Redhat is not running optimally, so I thought that I would load SuSE on it. Major problem. It finally recognizes the controller card, but it tells me that I don't have a hard drive. I spoke with installation support (what a joy, but at least I got a person). He suggested various boot parameters which I attempted. Finally, I got an email from support saying that this type of installation was not supported. He advised me to download an Adaptec driver for SELS7. I downloaded the latest driver for 8.2 (same version as the other driver). Before I go past the point of no return, has anyone had any experience doing this? I have read the mailing lists and googled until I've about gone blind, but I haven't found anything on point. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Frank
