What do I need to do in order to enable eth0 automatically after a reboot?
Interesting that it doesn't think the network service is running. Look at /var/run/sysconfig/ and see if there's a problem with that directory,
That directory is empty until I run ifup on the interfaces (the "network" file is absent). # cat /var/run/sysconfig/if-eth0 interface=eth0
perhaps look at earlier messages and see if perhaps the file system is still mounted read-only at that point?! Just a guess
I get the same results running "/etc/init.d/network start" manually at run-level 3. - Chris
