Did you try the b44 driver for the card that comes with SuSE? -----Original Message----- From: Rob [mailto:Hard2Hold@gmail.com] Sent: Friday, October 15, 2004 7:23 AM To: suse-linux-e@suse.com Subject: [SLE] Suse 9.1 and Dell Inspiron 9100 network card I just got in this laptop and wanted to run suse on it. I was able to get mostly everything working but the 10/100 Broadcom 440x network card. After performing some google on it, I went to broadcom.com and downloaded the linux drivers. Installed make, gcc, and the kernel source for suse. via the readme, performed this actions with no failures: 1. Create a directory and extract the files: tar xvzf bcm4400-<version>.tar.gz 2. Build the driver bcm4400.o as a loadable module for the running kernel: cd src make 3. Test the driver by loading it: insmod bcm4400.o 4. Install the driver and man page: make install My problem is the network card is still not responding. I am sure I am just missing some easy, but can not figure out what. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
