I am trying to setup a home network with 2 machines, primarily for learning purposes: I would like my configuration to have the following setup: Machine 1: PDC running openldap/samba so as to authenticate users connecting from either a linux or windows box. Machine 1: also has shares available to users for file storage (how best to configure these shares? Automount? For availability both from Linux and XP). Machine 2:Linux/XP dual boot running various address book clients like Outlook, Thunderbird etc. with address book contacts stored on the LDAP server by user. I have Oracle/Apache exp on Unix, have been running Suse9.0 so can say have intermediate exp. on Linux. Just wanted to see if anyone could point me to some documentation on quickly setting up openldap and Samba on SuSE. Btw in 9.0 openldap shipped with the LDBM db in 9.1 I hear there is a choice on BerkeleyDB or LDBM. I would prefer to use BerkeleyDB, hence would prefer not to download and compile openldap with BDB. Thanks in advance. monosij
