I have two scsi tape devices that I want to connect to my SmartArray controller (using the cciss driver). I am running SLES9 x86-64. This is a four channel controller. Two channels are connected to some RAID arrays, and they are detected just fine. I have another channel connected to a Quantum SDLT320 drive, but the kernel is not detecting the tape drive. After reading this: http://www.cpqlinux.com/cciss-tape.html I am worried that the SuSE kernel may not be configured properly for access to this device. I can always add another SCSI controller to the system ($$$), but I would rather just use the extra channels that I am not using now. I will also be connecting an IBM 7334-410 tape library with two drives to the other channel in a few weeks. I assume I'll have the same problems with that. Any advice on using the cciss driver for SCSI tape devices? -- Cameron Thorne
