KDE 3.3.1
In the past, I remember seeing a Printer control in the Control Panel under the Peripherals area. My install doesn't have this any more.
Is it part of some other package I no longer have installed, or did it move in 3.3.1?
Please enlighten me :)
Any thoughts on this?
Several... Do you have a printer configured via YaST? Have you tried as a different user to see if the same issue is present? Helps narrow it down to single user versus possible system wide issue. If its a single user issue than it is probably a KDE parameter in the ~/.kde directory. If the try-as-a-different-user-test shows a single user has the problem then one option would be to move the problem user's ~/.kde directory to ~/.kde-old, log out and log back into KDE and let all those parameters be recreated. You get to do a lot of cut&paste and re-entry of data to get back that user's customizations such as kaddressbook and other 'minor' details you may use/need. It does allow for new, clean default options and parameters to be set for 3.3.1 though. Have you rebooted lately? Have you logged out of KDE and logged back in lately? Have you gone so far as to do an 'init 3' and an 'init 5' to shutdown and restart X? If all else fails try the 'init 3' to shutdown X, delete everything in /tmp, and then do an 'init 5'. That'll clean up any stray temp variables that may not have been properly cleaned out when updating to KDE 3.3.1. HTH, Stan
