Doesn't ring a bell here. Setting up a cups client with an already running server has always been a breeze.
How is the server being set up to broadcast, and the client to receive broadcasts ?.
/etc/cups/cupsd.conf [..] # # Browsing: whether or not to broadcast and/or listen for CUPS # printer # information on the network. Enabled by default. # #Browsing On [..] # BrowseAddress: specifies a broadcast address to be used. By # default browsing information is not sent! Thank you Theo. But after I wrote the message, I have been on the Cups homepage. Here I could see, that it was not necessary to do anything. After that, I did set the printer up via Yast, and choosed "Cups Using Broadcasting". Obviously my patience has not been great enough to wait for the 30 seconds, as it wouldn't work :-) It works like a charm. 73 de Erik OZ4KK
