Thanks for your reply.
I WOULDN'T LIKE to have files/folders from my /media/dvdrecorder folder in locate's database! The problem with that is, that even if by default the /media/ folder is on the "ignored-list", updatedb still reports the message, that "No medium found". It should in this case even not to touch that area, no ?!
Ah, that is clear now. Perhaps there is a symlink somewhere that is searched pointing to /media/dvdrecorder. Also, you must have enabled the subfs automounting thing. I dissabled it, and use the classical manual mount commands instead. Most certainly, if the device has to be manually mounted, updatedb can not complain - or it shouldn't :-)
Do you have an idea, where else I could check the settings, or why the updatedb complains always? (I checked already in sysconfig editor the default list for these ignored folders, and there I didn't change anything, and kept the default; so /media is 100% included...)
I think it must be related to the automount feature. Where do you see the message, at the logs? Just ignore it, then. -- Saludos Carlos Robinson
