Greetings
I have a wirless adapter which came as part of the deal with my new laptop. :-} However Yast see the device but doesn't make it work? I ran lspci -v and discovered that it is unknown, so I decided to compile a driver.
I have downloaded the following files from http://ipw2200.sourceforge.net/index.php:
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/ipw2200/ipw2200-0.8.tgz?download http://ipw2200.sourceforge.net/firmware.php?fid=2 But I can't find the ieee80211 on there site. Hence my driver will not compile whether related or not I don't know!
Could some kind person please assist me here.
Here is the output from the compile:
[root@chadlap: ipw2200-0.8]# make make -C /lib/modules/2.6.4-52-default/build SUBDIRS=/home/chadley/downloads/wireless intel 2200bg/ipw2200-0.8 MODVERDIR=/home/chadley/downloads/wireless intel 2200bg/ipw2200-0.8 modules make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/src/linux-2.6.4-52' make[1]: *** No rule to make target `intel'. Stop. make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-2.6.4-52' make: *** [modules] Error 2
I have no idea what this means but the kernel sources for my current kernel are installed and I have I followed INSTALL instructions to the T. Thanks

Try "make prepare-all" in the kernel source directory first and see if that helps. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce .... Hamradio G3VBV and keen Flyer =====LINUX ONLY USED HERE=====
