Unfortunately no. I have the export $DISPLAY:1.0 in the script. This works when I'm logged in as ROOT but does not display when the crontab is executed and anyone else in logged in.
And it won't either because cron executes in a "headless" fashion with no knowledge of a display. Hence $DISPLAY is -not- set. You might try setting the DISPLAY variable to the IP address of the machine of the name of the machine such as DISPLAY=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx;export DISPLAY. Of course you users would have to allow remote "X" programs to display on their desktop. Ken 8 to go
