Unfortunately, xmms stopped playing realplayer files after I installed RealPlayer 10 :-( There doesn't seem to be an equivalent file to the RP8 plugin in the RP10 distribution.
I found that Kaffeine would play the file, and tried to save it from there. However, it seems to be protected because Kaffeine complained that it couldn't save copyright-protected material. I guess that, if the BBC want to keep it live only, I'll have to live with that.
Nah, just read the comments on slashdot. Someone has already come up with the needed mplayer command. :) I haven't tested it yet, but for what it's worth: mplayer -dumpstream mms://wm.bbc.co.uk/radio4/hitchhikers/h2g3_episode1.asf Regards, Pieter Hulshoff
