postfix: i/o error flushinbg output to client

Hi list, I've found a problem on my SUSE box recently. My mailbox had over 400+ messages waiting. My 2000 Pro box could not download the messages, it looked like it was timming out. Don't know why, the message were small. I checked /var/messages and it said something about i/o error flushinbg output to client Anyway, i used mutt to view the messages on the server. I deleted some 250 mail messages. I tried to redownload and only got 5 messages. All other 50 messages are missing. Any ideas? Thanks Fareed
