There seems no way to specify the polling frequency for xntpd ...at least not within YaST. I've looked in the config file, too, but didn't see anything. Is there another way I missed?
Thanks!
Good day Hamel, on 9.0 i have the xntpd documentation installed in /usr/share/doc/ packages/xntp-doc In the html folder i found something that seems to control the poll time in confopt.htm -- namely maxpoll and minpoll Perhaps you can finde more information by digging around in the documentation. I leave the polling interval up to ntpd's clever automatic polling frequency adjustment scheme on permanent connections. I read somewhere that on dialup connections ntpd can be invoked with a special parameter that will set the time once and then exit. This could be put in the ip-up script for the connection so that time is adjusted every time the computer connects to the net. I wonder what your situation is since you want to control the polling time yourself. Best regards Johnny :o)
