Did you try some of the steps in earlier posts? I was able to work around this a couple ways - upgrade cdrecord to the version from the packman site http://packman.links2linux.org/?action=316 - setuid root on it and cdrdao For whatever reason, even though you set cdrecord to run as root with the stock SuSE 9.1 version of cdrecord, it still doesn't run as root. The packman version fixes this. - /etc/resmgr.conf I found that by adding "scsi" after "paride" for the /dev/cdrom line and booting, I was able to burn as a user using the stock cdrecord.
