I only seem to get the right-hand sound channel through my speakers or headphones. It's not the hardware, because booting into Windows gives me full sound. The mixer settings show no balance skew.
I've almost always found this to be a mixer problem here. Have you tried AlsaMixerGui [snip] Once you've found the problem and corrected it remember to go into Control Center, Sound & Multimedia, Mixer, Save Current Volumes.
Wonderful! AlsaMixerGui did indeed show that the ADC and DAC volumes were set to zero for the left channel for some odd reason. Matching the volumes and saving via the control center has given me matched sound :-) Many thanks!
