Hi list, After working a while with my 250 GB external firewire drive (Maxtor) I keep accumulating lots of these messages in my logs: kernel: ieee1394: sbp2: aborting sbp2 command kernel: Read (10) 00 11 b7 4d f7 00 00 08 00 and an occasional: kernel: ieee1394: unsolicited response packet received - no tlabel match Sometimes I find these as well: kernel: ide-floppy: hdh: I/O error, pc = 1b, key = 2, asc = 3a, ascq = 0 kernel: hdh: No disk in drive and: kernel: hdh: lost interrupt This is a newly homebuilt machine with Asus A8V mobo, an AMD 2200+ cpu, two SATA drives, two IDE drives, a CD/DVD player, and a legacy zip drive. I am running 64bit SuSE 9.1 on it with the latest kernel installed via YOU. Any ideas where I can start trouble shooting this would be greatly appreciated. I don't remember seeing these before on my old machine (Intel-based, had essentially the same hardware except for the 2 SATA drives). So far the errors didn't seem to bother the machine too much. Data transfer to and from the drive seems to work at least most of the time. I came across this only when an install of additional software didn't proceed. I typically place the contents of the DVD on the firewire drive and install from there. Best regards, Alex.
