For the last 3 days privoxy has been leaving defunct processes, not cleaning up after itself.
SuSE 9.0 cable connect privoxy-3.0.2-59 packaged by suse
This happened (as I recall) once before some time ago and a simple 'rcprivoxy restart' solved the situation. But not now :-(
privoxy eventually uses up its limit of process id's and then my web browser is no longer able to update particular pages I monitor during the day.
The only memorable system change that I have made lately was a kernel update: Linux wahoo 2.4.21-238-default #1 Thu Jul 29 17:53:59 UTC 2004
And the 238 kernel appears to be the culprit. Updated today to 243 and no longer have the problem. Thankyou SuSE. -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org HOG # US1244711 Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/photos
