I tried to install winTV pvr-350 without success. Yast has a TV installation program. When the selection screen comes the my card is there!!. Then when I selected and try to scan channels an error message comes saying that the device is not available. When I look at the drivers it loads, I believe they are not correct (bttv). Why if I select the correct card loads the wrong? drivers. I found: http://ivtv.sf.net/ In summary: Does Suse 9.1 comes with support for the card and and doing something wrong? or I have to patch the kernel? I've never use unix or linux. This is my first installation so any "obvious" comments are very welcome :-) ref: SuSE 9.1 64bit ASUS k8v deluxe + amd64 ATI 9600 pro hp 2035 lcd running as analog 1600x1200 <<<<<<< winTV PVR-350 Model: 48132, Revision: J123, Serial No: 6190288 Tuner: Philips FM1236 (23) Decoder: SAA7115 (19), Audio: MSP4418 (25) FM range: 76.00 - 108.00 MHz PCI Vendor/Device: 0x4444 / 0x0803 PCI SubVen/SubDev: 0x0070 / 0x4000 Driver version: 0.04.072 Encoder firmware: 2.04.120 Decoder firmware: 2.02.023

From http://htpcnews.com/main.php?id=pvr_card_id_guide # All PVR-250/350's use a Philips SAA7115 PAL/NTSC/SECAM Video Decoder, Micronas MSP34x5G or MSP44x8G stereo sound analog to digital converter, and a Philips TV tuner module. # The initial PVR-250 revision used the same MPEG2 encoding chip as the PVR-350: the Conexant CX23415. # The Conexant CX23415 was originally developed by a company called iCompression under the name "iTVC15" which Conexant bought out and renamed. It has both MPEG2 encoding and decoding integrated into it, and needs a heat sink, other OEMs like AverMedia and Yuan included a small fan on their "15" designs. # Conexant makes an encode only chip called the CX23416. The "16" does not need a heat sink due to the fact it is newer and that the mostly unused decode portion of the "15" chip has been eliminated (there are far more PVR-250's in use than PVR-350's). The current retail box PVR-250 and PVR-250MCE use the "16" chip. While for reasons unknown the "Freestyle" OEM cards for 1st generation Windows XP MCE systems used the older and hotter "15" chip. The PVR-350 because of its encode and decode feature has to use the CX23415. # The PVR-USB2 is effectively a PVR-250 with an FM tuner redesigned into an external enclosure with a high-speed USB 2.0 interface. So if an application supports the PVR-250 it will most likely support the PVR-USB2 as well. TIA -=terry(Denver)=-
