Good idea! Thanks. The solution is to create a couple of symlinks: <snip> ln -s /usr/X11R6/lib/xscreensaver /usr/lib ln -s /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/xscreensaver/config/ /etc/xscreensaver That's because kxsrun seems to search for the xscreensavers at the wrong places. I straced this down like this: strace -f kxsrun atlantis 2>&1 |grep atlantis </snip> Mike -------------------------------------------------------- Cleary_Mike@emc.com -------------------------------------------------------- Windows is better for games; otherwise, you're better off using an actual operating system. -----Original Message----- From: Randall R Schulz [mailto:rschulz@sonic.net] Sent: Friday, August 20, 2004 5:19 PM To: suse-linux-e@suse.com Subject: Re: [SLE] KDE 3.3 - no screensaver Mike On Friday 20 August 2004 14:13, Cleary_Mike@emc.com wrote:
I updated to 3.3 today - no apparent problems at first. But now the screensaver does not work at all. When you configure the desktop, the "test" button does nothing. After the set time period (when the screensaver should kick in) the screen just goes black.
I can't find any dependency problems, and I've uninstalled and reinstalled the kde screensaver package.
Clues anyone?
Thanks,
Mike
