-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Posting this for future users... In order to get past the "unmounting disk" stage lockups in k3b and xcdroast. I had to change the master/slave settings on my rom drives. original setting: dvdrw on secondary as master, dvdrom on secondary as slave. The new settings: dvdrom on secondary as master, dvdrw on secondary as slave. After changing this and booting system yast configured dvdrom and dvdrw (again). and I could again burn cd's as root. Following Fred's sugestion here I used chmod +s and a chown root:cdwrite to these files after creating the cdwrite group and adding all users I wanted burner access to it: /usr/bin/cdrecord /usr/bin/cdrdao /usr/X11R6/lib/xcdroast-0.98/bin/cdrecord Thanks fred for the suggestion. I had a blonde moment... Pagan On Saturday 21 August 2004 00:44, Fred Miller wrote:

If you would please reply with the changes you made in order to resolve your cd burning issues? I am compiling 2.6.8.1 and want to get this going.
The first thing I'd try is XCDRoast......run first time as root, and setup giving all users rights to use it. If that doesn't work, as a user, then use konq. as super-user and start setting the UID flag for user on /usr/bin/cdrecord and all other related cd burning files.
Lemme know how you do.
