Thanks for the response, I have looked at Scribus but my understanding it
only runs on the Pro version because of the server requirement. I have not
taken the plunge to Pro yet still learning on desktop. I am also waitting
for Novell to ship my resource kit with the Pro update.
I'll look at the others. I can convert publisher to PDf with PDF995.

Anyone know of a Linux app that will either view or convert M$ Publisher files. I've Googled but come up empty handed.
Thanks, Darrell
I am also looking for a replacement for Publisher. I just looked at the CodeWeaver website compatibility list. Publisher 2000 and 2002 are listed as untested and publisher 2003 is not listed. If you try it let me know what version your using it with, I'll do the same if I try it. Not sure I want to pay for a product I'm not sure will work. I use Open Office to get to my Excel, Word and Power point documents. So far so good. -- Russ -- Russ ==========
Most folks are finding very capable tools for DTP work in Linux now with Scribus, Inkscape & The Gimp. Scribus should easily replace Publisher and even Quark or Pagemaker. Inkscape will do a nice job to replace Illustrator and the Gimp, although not 16bit will do quite well for other graphics. I don't think you'll find the Gimp lacking in the type work you want to do.
If you need help getting the files over and my guess is to convert to EPS or PDF to open in Scribus from Publisher. Join the Scribus mail list or IRC for further instructions/comments from many professionals that have already made the change!
