any know what package it is looking for now hence my output:
chadlin:/home/chadley/downloads/libxine # rpm -ivh apt-0.5.15cnc6-0.suse091.rb.3.i586.rpm apt-libs-0.5.15cnc6-0.suse091.rb.2.i586.rpm error: Failed dependencies: libpopt.so.0 is needed by apt-0.5.15cnc6-0.suse091.rb.3 libpopt.so.0 is needed by apt-libs-0.5.15cnc6-0.suse091.rb.2 chadlin:/home/chadley/downloads/libxine #
I've solved a similar dependency problem (completely unrelated to xine) by simply putting a symlink to libpopt.so.1 (which is very likely installed on your machine or can be had from the distribution) in /usr/lib/libpopt.so.0. Chances are that this will work for you, too. HTH, Alex.
