"/dev/hda3 has not been checked in 60 days Check forced"
How and why is this triggered. hda3 is my home directory but the system is 9.1 installed on Friday the 11. Is there some date coded flag stored on the partitions?
For ext2, the info is in the superblock, see the following example: # dumpe2fs -h /dev/hda7 ... Last mount time: Wed Jun 16 08:31:38 2004 Last write time: Wed Jun 16 19:14:12 2004 Mount count: 19 Maximum mount count: 25 Last checked: Sun May 30 11:52:35 2004 Check interval: 15552000 (6 months) Next check after: Fri Nov 26 10:52:35 2004 In words: fsck will run when the mount count reaches 25 or after November 26. -- A.M.
