How did you get it to work? I have same problem except I haven't been able to get it to work. I made the /etc/isapnp.conf file with command pnpdump -c > /etc/isapnp.conf then run isapnp /etc/ispnp.conf tells me it sees and configures the modem to 0x0100 irq 3. Says is ok Says putting all devices back to "wait for key" then I (there are no other serial ports in my machine. I disabled them in BIOS) run setserial if I run setserial -q /dev/ttyS0 it tells me default 0x02f8 irq 4 with unknown UART (this is as expected since all serial ports are disabled in bios So I run setserial /dev/ttyS0 port 0x0100 irq 3 autoconfig then setserial -q /dev/ttyS0 shows with my adjusted port & irq but still unrecognised UART. and kinternet say modem not responding.... Can you help me with this? B-) On Sunday 06 June 2004 09:16 am, it clown wrote:
Hi All
I have a internal isa pnp modem. I got it finally working on suse 9.1 pro.The only problem i have now is when ever i restart my pc the modem doesnt want to work nomore. The isapnp irq and io setting are the same as ttyS0. So when i restart my pc isapnp stuffs out of a resource conflict because of ttyS0. Do i need to use the set_multiport for setserial for the modems ttySx? How does the set_multiport function work for setserial i dont understand the man page.
