Help with internal ip / host names

Hello. I'm having a complete brain fart here, and can't seem to put in the right information to google to get what I need, so I was wondering if someone could help enlighten me. I have a test server set up on our local network here, and its almost running great. The problem is that in order to access the computer you have to use the internal ip address and cannot use the computer name. How do I bind the computer name to the ip address (this is only for access over the internal network), so for instance when I need to go view the web root I can type in http://computerName instead of http://192.168.....
