Very impressive - had to sort out the fact that I use lprng and not cups apart from which very slick : net, monitor, internal modem, sound -- all straight out of the box, though had to alter X settings because of unusual monitor shape. Problem is IRDA which was working on 8.2 irattach /dev/ttyS1 ( where the BIOS say I have IR ) results in the following in var/log/messages May 24 11:28:31 mossdog irattach: irattach: tty: set_disc(11): Bad file descriptor May 24 11:28:31 mossdog irattach: Stopping device /dev/ttyS1 May 24 11:28:32 mossdog irattach: ioctl(SIOCGIFFLAGS): No such device May 24 11:28:32 mossdog irattach: exiting ... I do not really understand this message - can anyone shed any light for me please. Many thanks Francesco
