Hello SuSE folk, Running 8.2 Downloaded the latest SuSE Python src.rpm. I gave it the rpm --rebuild command and it did it's thing for about 20 minutes. It seems to have failed. Following are about the last 10 lines: -------------------------------------------------------------------running build_scripts creating build/scripts-2.3 copying and adjusting /usr/src/packages/BUILD/Python-2.3.3/Tools/scripts/pydoc -> build/scripts-2.3 copying and adjusting /usr/src/packages/BUILD/Python-2.3.3/Tools/scripts/idle -> build/scripts-2.3 changing mode of build/scripts-2.3/pydoc from 644 to 755 changing mode of build/scripts-2.3/idle from 644 to 755 + emacs --batch --no-site -f batch-byte-compile Misc/python-mode.el /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.63677: line 51: emacs: command not found Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.63677 (%build) linux:/home/bob/Installing # --------------------------------------------------------------------- Here are the last few lines from rpm-tmp: -------------------------------------------------------------------- make DESTDIR=$RPM_BUILD_ROOT # precompile emacs stuff emacs --batch --no-site -f batch-byte-compile Misc/python-mode.el exit 0 ------------------------------------------------------------- It produced a SPEC file and put lots of stuff in BUILD & SOURCES, but did not make an rpm for me. Could I just build an rpm now with the spec file? Could somebody please explain/help please? Bob S.
