Hmmm. Very interesting. I have come upon this as well. However, the
virtual terminals do not seem to do their job.
F1=main install
F3=list/history of some sort. I can type commands into this terminal, but
no responses are give.
F4=another list/history. The last 4 entries are:
parport0: pc-style at 0x3bc [cspp, tristate]
paride: bpck registered as protocol 0
VFS: can't find a Minix or Minix V2 filesystem on device fd0
VFS: can't find ext2 filesystem on dev fd0
F2, F5-12=blank windows with flashing cursor. no input is accepted from the
keyboard.
Is all this normal do you think, or is there a workaround?
Proctor.

2. In light of the above, i decided that a network install might be nice. I rebooted, and this time chose to install Module3 (network modules), since i have a pcmcia ethernet card for the laptop. However, i receive an error: "there is not enough memory to load all data. To continue, activate some swap space." I cannot activate swap, because my hd is blank. Stumped.
when you get to this point, switch to one of the other virtual consoles, using alt-f2, alt-f3, alt-f4 etc. I forget which one, but one of those has a command line where you can partition the drive with fdisk, run mkswap and swapon. Then switch back to the installer with alt-f1 and continue
