I had to set "xhost +" also to get it working.
Where can I set this up to be done at boot ?

Robert.

Hi,
I have Suse 9.0 and would like to connect from thin client with "X -query ip_of_server".
But after minute I get message that "X: client 1 rejected from IP ip_of_server".
I've enabled remote connections (somewhere in settings for kdm), firewall is off, but that obviously is not enough.
Anyone any advice - what settings to check/consider ? Where in logs should unsuccessful logins with some explanation show ?
Yast -> System -> Editor for /etc/sysconfig files -> Desktop -> Display Manager -> DISPLAY_MANAGER_REMOTE_ACCESS
Only works for KDM right now though. To enable XDM for general X access you'll need to google for an xdm howto on the net.
Whoops, didn't read the full post until now. Bah, I hate it when that happens, you did what I suggested already. Ok, have a look at /etc/X11/xdm/xdm-config, the last line has a config option that _may_ help. This might cause your SuseConfig scripts to screw up though.
SOrry for the misleading info before...
