I recently installed 9.0 for the first time. It appears fine right after the install, but after I reboot, X stops working and gives me the following errors: ------------ This is a pre-release version of XFree86, and is not supported in any way. Could not init font path element /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/CID, removing from list! waiting for X server to shut down -------------- I used SaX2 to reconfig X, and it seems to finish successfully, but when I get out of SAX2 and use startx, I'm still not able to bring up an X server. (same error). I have googled and found a couple of things, but nothing has worked. Neither root nor a normal user can start X. Can anyone help me with this? I was happily using RedHat but wanted to start with SuSE to get to know it. I need help on this one though! TIA. -- vicki I can include the whole X log if need be.
