I'm running SuSE 9.0 with the latest Mantel 2.6 kernel on my notebook and have a SMC2532W-B 802.11b PC Card. This wireless card has a Prism 2.5 chipset and the Orinoco driver is being loaded. I know the card is working fine since I can run Kismet (a wireless sniffer) and see my access points. I tried using YaST to configure this wireless card by going to Network Devices/Network Card. I then selected my wireless card and went to "Hardware Details" .. Then to "Wireless Settings." I type in my SSID and Wep key, then finish. I figure at this point I should be able to browse the web, but no such luck. When I run "ifconfig eth1" and "iwconfig" I see my wireless card details, but don't see any IP address, gateway, dns, etc .. I also tried to do a "/etc/init.d/network restart" .. No dice. Is there a better way (aka way that works) to configure wireless in SuSE 9.0? Thanks!
