Just tried to load Suse 9 Pro on my son's Win98se box. He is suddenly fascinated by Linux games (he's 8.5yrs) and I'd just as soon he be comfortable with both Linux and M$. (M$ is necessary for his learning games else I'd purge it as a virus!) During the load I received what appeared to be sequential Failure messages re. gettext, e2fsprogs, and attr at 19%. Attempted Retry a couple of times and then bypassed them. When Suse tried to boot following an otherwise successful load I received this YaST2 message: "An Error occurred during initrd creation. Root Device: /dev/hda3 (mounted on / as reiserfs) Module List: reiserfs Kernel Version: 2.4.21-99-athlon (i586) Kernel Image: /boot/vmlinux-2.4.21-99-athlon" Should I just try reloading Suse or does this collection of Failures and Errors suggest a pattern indicative of a know particular problem? The motherboard is an ASUS A7V133 BIOS 1007 CPU 850MHz -- Thanks! & 73, doc kd4e West Central Florida Drake, Heathkit, Kenwood, TenTec, Yaesu Radio Life: http://www.gospelcom.net/twr/ Linux-Incompatible hardware is defective!
