Newbie who has used KDE in Mandrake 8 and RHL 9 trying to figure out peculiarities of SuSE 9.
When I minimize something (browser, anything, by clicking on the minus sign), it doesn't drop a little box into the panel (taskbar) for me to go back to later.
I don't know what the heck it does with it and can't find a way to fix this.
Gotta be some simple setting to change that I'm missing (???)
Hi, You did say what version of SuSE you are running (9.0), but you didn't say what version of KDE ??? I'm running KDE 3.1.1 on SuSE 8.2. However, it seems to me that this hasn't really changed for the last several upgrades of KDE.... Go to your start menu (on machine I use the KDE "Kicker" which is a K on top of a gear.) Go to Control Center ---> Desk Top --> Panels --> click on tab "Hiding" and make sure that you don't have "Hide automatically clicked." (While you are there, Look at the other options and pick the ones you want, don't forget to choose "apply" if it shows on your screen.) I have mine desk top set up with "four panels" and when I do: "minimize" it drops the name of the window I have minimized onto my task bar which I can later click on and it opens back up.
