For those in the US there is pricegrabber.com
It shops the other sites and produces a sortable price list including zip
code for figuring out the taxes or lack thereof. Last time a bought a
suse distro I bought online from a NY company. Pricegrabber also has an
area for buyer comments so you can make a judgement call on the company.
It would be nice if they expanded to overseas.

I was pointed towrards the LiteON and LG burners. I opted for the LG 4081b = and=20 have not been disappointed. Got mine for about 100 bucks (US) at DIYmicro.c= om

Look into a liteon. Its an OEM brand I have one of their CDRw and it works fine.
