I'm trying to use apt to upgrade my SuSE9.0 and after trying to execute /sbin/ldconfig I get the error message:
E: Transaction set check failed
Google and the Suse apt howto are not my friends today. Any suggestions?
TIA Richard
Google likes me best :) Richard, I think you got two different error messages. I don't use apt, but several people who do report similar error messages when "apt' fails because of un meet package dependencies: http://distro.conectiva.com.br/pipermail/apt-rpm/2004-January/002162.html http://lists.freshrpms.net/pipermail/freshrpms-list/2004-February/007556.htm... http://archives.real-time.com/pipermail/kde-redhat-users/2004-January/000483... http://www.fedoraforum.org/forum/showthread/t-829.html I would look at what messages apt gave you. Several of the people said they solved their dependency problems using rpm -Uvh *.rpm. Could be the apt problems are related to the signature check issue... I usually run "ldconfig --verbose" after running "SuSEconfig --verbose" it may be that with a partial install of some rpm's via apt that you are getting your problem. I did my searching in google usisng: "transaction set check" Hope this helps, Gar -- __________________________________________________________________ Introducing the New Netscape Internet Service.
